Black Heritage Tour with Jennifer Tosch

Black Heritage Tour with Jennifer Tosch
23 February, 13.00-14.30
Meeting point: National Monument, Dam Square
On this walking tour, Jennifer Tosch reflects on and expands the histories surfaced in Buhlebezwe Siwani’s project ulwela amaza.
Starting at the National Monument at the Dam Square with a brief introduction, we will travel through the oldest part of the city (De Wallen/Red Light District) and some UNESCO World Heritage Sites, to explore the city’s ‘hidden history’ of the early presence of free and not-free people who came from all over the world; but also of colonial symbols on canal houses, national monuments and museums, just as sites of active resistance from the past and the present.
Join us for this special event! Please sign up by emailing info@rozenstraat.co.
Note: Tour will last approx. 1.5hrs.
